The incident of an obscene video being played during an online class of the department of social work has come to light at Kurukshetra University (KU).

As per the information, an online class for first-year students of the department of social work was in progress on Thursday when someone allegedly played an obscene video, following which around 40 students left the class.

Following the incident, KU Vice Chancellor Somnath Sachdeva set up a committee under the proctorial board to investigate the matter and asked the committee submit its report at the earliest.

“Some content was played during an online class. Taking serious note of the incident, the Vice Chancellor constituted a committee. The help of cyber crime cell will be taken. Strict action will be taken against the person who played the clip,” said Dr Brajesh Sawhney, director public relations. — TNS
