Obstacle course for NCC cadets opens at KU

Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Som Nath Sachdeva has said National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets are committed to national service with the uttermost sincerity.

He was addressing the cadets after inaugurating an obstacle training course for the NCC cadets on the premises of Institute of Integrated and Honours Studies on Wednesday.

The VC said the cadets sincerely participated in social awareness initiatives, environmental issues, disaster relief, adventure and sports activities and other nation-building efforts.

The training aimed to strengthen physical and mental abilities, he added.

KU Registrar Dr Virender Pal said NCC developed values and ideals of nationalism in cadets so that they could contribute significantly in building the nation.

KU NCC cadets had made the university proud at the state and national level, he added.

Colonel Harpreet Singh, Colonel Nitish Kumar, NCC staff members and 150 NCC cadets were among those present at the event.
