Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala has warned officers that if there is any delay in projects related to road and building construction, then the top officers of the department would be held responsible.

If a project is delayed at the administrative level, the officials concerned would be held accountable and the cost would be deducted from their salary.

Dushyant, who also holds the portfolio of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, on Tuesday reviewed 42 ongoing projects.

Out of these, 18 projects were related to roads, ROBs, underpasses and 24 projects were related to hospitals, sports and judges’ houses, children’s home and buildings of departmental offices.

Dushyant Chautala said the officers should get the file work done themselves by coordinating with each other and removing the bottlenecks so that the public could get the benefit of roads, bridges, hospitals and other government buildings on time.

The Deputy CM said the officers should visit the site to complete the works of public interest on time. — TNS
