On 71st birthday, Khattar opens MP sports contest in Panipat

  • Leaders, workers and supporters from across Karnal took part in the celebrations on Monday
  • The celebrations began with a havan ceremony at the Shraddhanand Child Care Institute near Karna Tal
  • Spiritual ceremonies continued at Shri Krishna Gaushala, with party leaders and workers feeding cows, and cutting a cake
  • A blood donation camp was also organised here to mark the day
  • Simultaneously, a Vriddh Poojan (elderly worship) ceremony took place at Nirmal Dham Old Age Home, Model Town, Karnal
  • Meanwhile, a song dedicated to Khattar was released. In the song, he is described as a “rajniti ke sant” (saint of politics)

BJP workers on Monday celebrated the 71st birthday of Union Minister and former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar by organising blood donation camps and tree plantation drives in Panipat and Sonepat. In the evening, Khattar reached Panipat, and inaugurated the four-day MP sports competition at Shivaji Stadium. Kabaddi and kho-kho tournaments are set to be organised during the contest, with prizes of up to Rs 4 lakh. The prize distribution programme is set to be held in Karnal.

Former MP Sanjay Bhatia, Mayor Komal Saini, and BJP leaders Gajender Saluja and Krishan Chhoker were among those present during the programme. In Panipat, the BJP organised a mega-tree plantation drive at Manohar Park in Saini Colony.

Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, as the chief guest, inaugurated the programme while Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar presided over the event. The ministers, along with BJP district president Dushyant Bhatt and Panipat city MLA Pramod Vij, planted saplings at the park.

A blood donation camp was organised at Arya PG College, where BJP district president Dushyant Bhatt and other party workers donated blood. MLA Pramod Vij, Mayor Komal Saini and DC Virender Kumar Dahiya lauded the donors. A total of 196 people donated blood at the camp.

In Samalkha, a camp was organised at the office of BJP MLA Manmohan Bhadana.

As many as 136 people donated blood at the camp.

In Sonepat, a blood donation camp was organised in the Jagriti Dham Ashram.

Following the directions of Cooperatives, Prisons, Heritage and Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, a blood donation camp was organised at Fountain Chowk in Gohana.
