On looting spree, 5 strike at petrol station, liquor vends

Five miscreants robbed cash and liquor bottles from two liquor shops and a petrol station in Samalkha and Israna areas of the district, respectively, on Thursday. Ravinder, the owner of Kushaal petrol station at Gwalra village, said two salesmen, namely Ankush and Shivam of Mandi village, were at the station when the robbery took place.
Three youths who reportedly came in a car asked Ankush to fill the fuel tank of their vehicle. After filling the fuel, Ankush demanded Rs 2,399 from the youths, but they pulled him inside the car at gunpoint and tried to flee towards Israna.
Shivam, the other salesman, chased the car and pulled the keys of the car, stopping it. Meanwhile, two more youths in another car appeared at the spot with weapons in their hands and robbed the salesman of Rs 11,000.
After committing the robbery at the petrol station, the miscreants travelled in the other car to a liquor vend in the Samalkha area and looted cash from there.
Mahavir Singh of RK Puram Colony said he was in his liquor shop at Bapoli road when four persons came there in a car and two of them entered the liquor shop and robbed Rs 28,560 from the salesman at gunpoint. They then fled towards Karhans, he added.
The miscreants committed a third robbery the same day, this last one at another liquor shop owned by Mahavir at Machroli village.
