A 28-year-old woman was killed and four others injured when four vehicles, including a school bus, collided at the Sector 21C turn on Surajkund-Ankhir Road in Faridabad on Wednesday morning.

The deceased, Swarna Tripathi, was travelling in a car with her husband, Shivankar Tripathi, who was injured in the crash. Three other victims, including school bus employees, were also injured and admitted to a nearby hospital. While police confirmed the school bus was not carrying children, eyewitnesses claimed some children were aboard at the time. The witnesses also stated the accident occurred due to the fault of the trailer driver. An FIR has been filed at Surajkund police station and investigations are underway.

According to the police, the incident took place around 6.30 am when Swarna and her husband were waiting at a traffic signal in their car near the divider. A private school bus was crossing from Sector 21C towards Ankhir when a speeding trailer, travelling in the opposite direction towards Badkhal crossing, collided with the bus. The impact was so severe the bus swerved and hit the parked car. Before the couple could react, the trailer broke through the divider, hitting their car and a nearby pickup jeep. The collision caused the sand-loaded pickup to overturn, spilling its contents across the road.
