According to a police spokesperson, the complainant in the case claimed that, on August 26, his son and daughter-in-law were returning home from Kaithal on a motorcycle when unidentified persons abducted the couple in a car.

A case was registered at the Titaram police station in this regard. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, SP Astha Modi assigned the investigation to the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff with clear instructions to arrest the culprits at the earliest. A team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Pradeep Kumar, and comprising SI Jaibhagwan and Female Head Constable Sudesh, arrested the accused — identified as Sunil of Budhakhera village in Jind district — from Jind on the evening of August 27. The kidnapped couple was safely rescued during the operation. Initial probe revealed that accused was reportedly an acquaintance of the kidnapped woman.
