The Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff of the Kaithal police has arrested a person in connection with the kidnapping of a married couple in the area under the jurisdiction of the Titaram police station. The victims have been rescued, and the car used in the crime has been impounded by the police.
According to a police spokesperson, the complainant in the case claimed that, on August 26, his son and daughter-in-law were returning home from Kaithal on a motorcycle when unidentified persons abducted the couple in a car.
A case was registered at the Titaram police station in this regard. Taking note of the seriousness of the matter, SP Astha Modi assigned the investigation to the Anti-Vehicle Theft Staff with clear instructions to arrest the culprits at the earliest. A team led by Sub-Inspector (SI) Pradeep Kumar, and comprising SI Jaibhagwan and Female Head Constable Sudesh, arrested the accused — identified as Sunil of Budhakhera village in Jind district — from Jind on the evening of August 27. The kidnapped couple was safely rescued during the operation. Initial probe revealed that accused was reportedly an acquaintance of the kidnapped woman.
