One held for rape in Gurugram

The Gurugram police have nabbed a Bihar native for allegedly raping a 24-year-old local resident repeatedly for the past few months after recording a video of the crime and then blackmailing her.
Youth booked under POCSO Act
- The Gurugram police have booked an unidentified youth for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl and impregnating her. The crime came to fore when she complained of abdominal pain and bleeding. An FIR under POCSO Act has been registered at Sector 53 police station. The accused is still at large and not even identified yet, the police said. According to the police, a Sector 53 area resident approached the police and claimed that her daughter was allegedly raped by a stalker after he took her to a hotel on late Sunday evening. “The family of the victim was staying at a rented accommodation. The victim is a Class X student and she was not aware even about the name of the accused. She is being treated in a hospital now. We are trying to arrest the accused,” said ASI Mahesh Kumar, who is investigating the case. — OC
When he called her again to a room in Sector 30 in January and raped her, she finally moved the police.
An FIR has been registered at Sector 40 police station. The accused was produced in a city court today and sent to judicial custody.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, accused Sunil Singh was her colleague at a private store where she used to work earlier. He had proposed to her, but she had declined the offer. The victim claimed that when she ignored him he started stalking her and sending her obscene messages. She got scared of his behaviour and finally left her job. She even stopped talking to him, but some months later, he called her up.
“He invited me to meet him. There, he again proposed marriage but I again rejected it. After some days, he again called me up and asked me to meet him at a hotel in Sector 30. He offered me a cup of tea. After drinking it, I fell unconscious.
“He raped me, recorded the act and then started blackmailing me. Sunil used the video to repeatedly rape me. When I resisted, he threatened to kill me,” the victim said in her complaint.
As per the complaint, an FIR was registered against Sunil Singh under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at Sector 40 police station on Sunday. Today, the police arrested the accused who confessed to the crime.
“We have produced the accused in a city court from where he was sent to judicial custody,” said inspector Pawan Kumar, SHO of Sector 40 police station.
