One lands in police net for ‘killing’ auto driver in Gurugram

Gurugram, August 6

The police have arrested a Gurugram resident for allegedly killing a 27-year-old autorickshaw driver here today. The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Kumar while the accused is Virendra.

The victim’s body was recovered from a drain near KR Mangalam University in Sohna subdivision today morning. The preliminary findings suggest that he was beaten to death. His legs were also found broken.

A police spokesperson said that in her complaint, the victim’s mother said Kuldeep had left home in his autorickshaw on Monday morning and did not return till evening. When she came to know that his vehicle was parked near GD Goenka School, she reached there, but could not find him, following which she lodged a missing report. A team of the local police recovered his body from near the university.

During probe, the police managed to nab the accused, who confessed to having committed the crime and revealed the names of two other youths who were involved in the crime. They are yet to be taken into custody.

A police official said, “During interrogation, Virendra said Kuldeep was having an affair with a woman who was in close relation with him. Due to this, Virendra and his aides kidnapped him. They thrashed him, and after killing him, threw his body at a site near the university.”
