Karnal: A meeting of the advisory and staff council was held at RKSD College in Kaithal to discuss the organising of the online training workshops to all teaching departments of the college in a phase-wise manner in July. President Saket Mangal said, "These workshops will be conducted on a daily basis and students will also be included in these". Principal Sanjay Goyal said, "The online campus education from the college with its well-qualified teaching faculty, direct and continuous 24X7 connection with the students, comprehensive virtual library, lab experiments, virtual drills of NSS, NCC, cultural and sports cannot replace classroom teaching as distance learning is provided to students only at a specific time in the year with no direct contact of the students with their teachers".

Webinar on machine learning

Hisar: The training and placement cell and the department of computer science & engineering, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, conducted a webinar on the topic "Overview & future of machine learning". Prof Dharminder Kumar, chairperson of the department was the chief guest. Vivek Mittal, MTech in machine learning from BITS, Pliani, and currently working in Synopsys India Pvt Ltd was the speaker of the webinar. Partap Malik, director, placement, presided over the function and said 150 students attended the webinar. Prof Kumar said all intelligent systems in almost all sectors were based on ML algorithms and therefore, the scope of ML was sure to increase in future. Vivek Mittal started with defining commonly popular terms of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning. Citing examples of Sofia robot and automatic cars, he said artificial intelligence was science of enabling computers to mimic human intelligence and behaviour.

Python programming course

Hisar: The training & placement cell of GJUS&T has started a three weeks free "Python programming" course for students staying at home during the pandemic. Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, inaugurated the programme. Prof Saroj, Dean, FET, was the guest of honour at the inauguration event. Partap Singh, director, placement, presided over the event. Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Director, Prletex Solutions Private Limited is the trainer for the course. The VC said python is a very important language, which may be used for multiple purposes, including web development, computations activities and gui development and many more.
