‘Op Trackdown’: Hisar cops strike hard, arrest over 250 in 15 days
Police cancel bail of 11 habitual offenders | 6 pistols & 19 live cartridges recovered
In a major blow to organised crime, the Hisar police have arrested 255 accused, including 31 identified and most-wanted criminals, during the ongoing “Operation Trackdown”. The arrests were made between November 5 and 20 in a sustained crackdown on gangs, repeat offenders and anti-social elements.
Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan, addressing a press conference on Thursday, said the operation focused on neutralising criminal networks, seizing illegal weapons and preventing potential violent crimes. Police cancelled the bail of 11 habitual offenders and opened 20 new history sheets. Six pistols and 19 live cartridges were also recovered.
Among those arrested were two reward-carrying criminals: Hardeep, alias Lovely, of Piranwali, wanted by Rajasthan Police in an NDPS case and involved in four crimes and Bhajan Singh, alias Kallar Bhaini, accused in about 44 cases and wanted for aerial firing.
Police also cracked several major cases, including the blind murder of Rajesh of Sunder Nagar on October 6, 2025, with the arrest of five persons. Two attempt-to-murder and firing cases were also solved with the arrest of six accused.
The SP said intensive enforcement drives in Piranwali village and Ambedkar Basti led to 27 cases and 60 arrests under the NDPS Act in Piranwali and 23 cases and 50 arrests in Ambedkar Basti. Overall, 129 NDPS cases were registered this year, resulting in the arrest of 248 accused and the recovery of 6 kg opium, 2,013 kg doda post, 161 kg ganja, 1.947 kg heroin/chitta and 20,126 tablets.
To dismantle the financial networks behind drug trafficking, police attached properties worth around Rs 60 lakh belonging to two notorious smugglers. Seven offenders have been detained this year under the PIT NDPS Act, with action against five more underway.
The SP added that parallel campaigns for road safety and public order led to action against 1,114 people for drinking in public places and 800 challans for drunk driving.
