When the team members reached the Anatomy Department, students handed over the complaint in which they alleged that the OT master was harassing them for one or other reasons.

Students alleged that he used to pass vulgar comments on them and made them sit for hours in the OT without any reason. He also gave them an offer to go on a tour of Vrindavan from January 22 to 26, and when they refused, he started harassing them, said students.

Reacting to the complaint, the team members directed the internal complaint committee of the college to inquire into the issue and submit a report in 15 days.

“During our visit to the medical college, some students levelled allegations against the OT master. We have asked the internal complaint committee of the college to inquire into the matter and submit a report within 15 days. The OT master has been sent on leave,” said Trikha.

“I will personally speak to the Chief Minister in this regard and if the allegations are found true, strict action will be initiated,” the chairperson said. She also said students did not raise the issue with any college authority earlier.

Assandh MLA Gogi said the allegations were serious. The Vidhan Sabha committee would take the final call on the issue after receiving report of the internal college committee, he said.

After the directions of the chairperson of the committee, the KCGMC Director , Dr Jagdish Dureja, sent the OT master on one month leave. The OT master was also restricted from interacting with any complainant students and entering the college premises.

During the meeting with officials of the department, Assandh MLA Gogi raised the issue of non-availability of super specialty services like cardiology, paediatric surgery, radiologist and nephrologist. He also demanded setting up of a cath lab at the medical college.

Committee chairperson said they would send a report to the government about the outcome of their visit.

Later, the team members visited the Civil Hospital, the Government ITI and the Uplana PHC.

Gogi raised various issues related to the Civil Hospital and Uplana PHC. Gogi said, “There is no doctor at the Uplana PHC. The building is lying abandoned and lacks cleanliness. There is no facility for treatment of pregnant women here.”

Reacting on his statement, the chairperson directed the Civil Surgeon, Dr Yogesh Sharma, to ensure facilities at the Uplana PHC.

On the issue of a 100-bed hospital at Assandh, the DG (Health), Dr Usha Gupta, informed the chairperson that funds had been sanctioned for the new building of the hospital.

The chairperson Trikha directed the Civil Surgeon to visit de-addiction centres and check the record.
