Outsourced employees in the Health Department took out a march here on Sunday. They submitted a memorandum to the Civil Surgeon, demanding extension of service, scheduled to end on September 30.

Jai Kanwar Dahiya, district secretary, Sarv Karamchari Sangh, said around 11,000 employees had been working on the post of safai karamchari, ward servant, mali, dhobi, electrician, plumber, computer operator, fireman and lift attendant, with 210 deputed at health institutions in Rohtak district.

“The fear of losing job continues as they have not got any information about extension in service. Three days are left for their service period to end. We organised the march as the state government seemed in no mood to extend their service,” he said.
