Addressing a district-level programme as chief guest at Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, on Wednesday, Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal said the Kumhar/Prajapati community is “not only giving shape to clay but also cultivating the land and giving breath to the clay”.
Jindal said the Prajapati community, by upholding the ideals of Swadeshi and self-reliance, was playing “a key role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047”.
The event marked the distribution of eligibility certificates (Patrata Praman Patra) to eligible Kumhar/Prajapati families. A total of 4,208 certificates were handed over.
Jindal said the government aimed to ensure the progress of all sections of society and provide equal opportunities to all communities. “It is not just an eligibility certificate but a symbol of empowerment, identity and respect,” he added.
BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli said the state government, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, had issued eligibility certificates to the Kumhar/Prajapati community to enable them to make clay pots on panchayat land. “The Prajapati community, by continuing the traditional art of clay pottery, contributes to a self-reliant India and self-reliant Haryana,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Sushil Sarwan said 4,208 certificates had been distributed in the district, including 964 beneficiaries from 36 gram panchayats of Gannaur block, 305 from 12 gram panchayats in Gohana block, 538 from 17 gram panchayats of Rai block, 205 from 4 panchayats of Murthal block, 529 from 10 panchayats of Kathura block, 541 from 17 gram panchayats of Mundlana block, 198 from 10 gram panchayats of Kharkhoda block and 928 from 36 gram panchayats of Sonipat block.
Mayor Rajiv Jain, Zila Parishad chairperson Monika Dahiya, BJP district president Ashok Bhardwaj and other officials were present.
In Panipat, Harpal Dhanda, brother of Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, along with Deputy Commissioner Dr Virender Kumar Dahiya, SP Bhupender Singh and Zila Parishad CEO Dr Kiran, took part in a similar district-level programme to distribute eligibility certificates to Kumhar/Prajapati families.
District Development and Panchayat Officer Rajesh Sharma said data of 3,186 people had been received through CRID, of which 2,511 eligibility certificates were prepared after verification. Some were distributed at the event, while the remainder will be delivered to beneficiaries’ doorsteps.
