Over Rs 10L fine imposed for illegal mining in Hisar
In a crackdown on illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals, the Mining Department conducted inspections across Hisar, checking 1,491 vehicles and imposing fines worth Rs 10.70 lakh for violations.
The action followed directives from Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav, who had emphasised strict monitoring of mining activities during the district-level mining committee’s monthly meeting in December. In response, the department launched special checking campaigns at key locations, including Ladhri Toll Plaza, South Bypass, Tosham Road and Mangali Road.
District Mining Officer Rajesh Kumar stated that four vehicles were caught operating without valid e-way passes and with police assistance, were seized and sent to the respective police stations. He emphasised that the department is actively monitoring mining operations and will continue taking stringent actions against violators.
Kumar warned that illegal mining and unauthorised transportation of minerals are punishable offences, carrying heavy fines and legal consequences. He urged mining traders and vehicle operators to comply with regulations and ensure they possess valid e-way passes before transporting minerals.
