Pact inked for blood separation facility at Red Cross Hospital

Panipat, March 6

An MoU has been signed between Panipat Refinery and Petrochemical Complex (PRPC) and the district administration for setting up a blood component separator unit (BCSU) at the Red Cross Hospital.

The MoU has been signed in between PRPC general manager SK Tripathi and Deputy Commissioner Hema Sharma. The PRPC approved Rs23 lakh for the project under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity.

The DC appreciated the contribution of Indian Oil for extending support to the needy and providing infrastructure not only for health, but also for education, skill development, and to women and youth empowerment.

The component separator will start functioning at Red Cross Society hospital within one month. After functioning of this facility, it will be able to separate the leukocytes (white blood cells), which cannot be used for blood transfusion to the patients.
