The in-charge of the Special Task Force (STF), Palwal, sustained a bullet injury to his leg during a crossfire that occurred in an encounter with individuals of criminal background at Bhateda village, under the jurisdiction of Khol Police Station, on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

The injured officer, Inspector Anil Chhillar, has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment. The STF team reportedly detained several individuals in connection with the incident, though official confirmation is still awaited.

Rewari SP Hemendra Kumar Meena told The Tribune that the STF team conducted a raid in the Khol area based on input regarding the presence of individuals with criminal backgrounds.

“It is yet to be ascertained whether those persons are associated with any gang,” he added.
