Karnal, November 2
Basta of patwaris of the district Revenue Department is going to be a thing of the past as they are becoming hi-tech with GPS-enabled tabs.
The process to distribute tabs has been started by the district administration, with the help of which patwaris will conduct khasra girdawari (crop inspection) twice a year. The authorities said the move would help in updating an actual picture of the revenue record. It will also ensure transparency and anyone can access the information online.
It will also save the time of patwaris as earlier they had to conduct girdawari and then send a report after coming to office. But now they would just have to upload a picture of the land on the portal.
As many as 125 tabs have been purchased and are being distributed among the patwaris through tehsildars.
Gaurav Kumar, SDM, Karnal, said “All patwaris have been trained to upload the picture on the portal of the Revenue Department for e-girdwari initiative.”
DC Nishant Kumar Yadav said: “A patwari has to upload picture with longitude and latitude information after conducting khasra girdawari. It will ensure their presence on the ground and we will get a real picture of the revenue record,” he said.
