He said as per the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta, the unauthorised colonies were being demolished and action was being taken against the promoters of those unauthorised colonies.

He said the unauthorised colony was being developed in a controlled area of the district.

He said the notices were issued to the violators as per rules under the Urban Area Act 8 of 1975.

He further said the violators did not comply with the departmental orders.

“The demolition was conducted as the land owners/promoters did not take necessary permission before carving out the illegal colony and conducting construction work,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.

He appealed to the people of the district that they should not invest their hard earned money in such unauthorised colonies and they should contact the DTP office before buying plots in such colonies.

“Before carrying out any construction in the controlled area, one can apply on the portal of the Town and Country Planning Department to obtain permission for land use change and if required, the DTP's office can be contacted for more information on any working day,” said Rajesh Kumar.
