Pension, encroachment plaints addressed at camp in Rohtak
Taking a serious note of complaints, Rohtak SDM Ashish Kumar has instructed officials of the Municipal Corporation and the Panchayat Department to appoint duty magistrates to remove encroachments and illegal occupations from public roads in order to prevent inconvenience to the public.
He issued directives while listening to public grievances during Samadhan Shivir here on Wednesday. The SDM also directed officials of the Public Health Engineering Department and the Municipal Corporation to repair sewer lines in their respective areas to resolve issues raised by residents.
Besides, Ashish instructed officials responsible for preparing Parivar Pehchan Patras (PPPs) to immediately correct discrepancies, such as linking unknown individuals, while ensuring that residents could access government schemes without any issues. Regarding pension schemes, he emphasised that eligible individuals must receive their due benefits, and the PPPs should be updated accordingly.
At Samadhan Shivir, residents of Sector 1 complained of poor road conditions in their area, which caused significant difficulties for the public in commuting. Sunil Bansal, another complainant, shared that despite selling his vehicle long ago, it was still linked to his PPP. Manish of Kharedi village requested financial aid after a fire destroyed his shop and left him without income, while residents of Azadgarh Colony demanded repairs for a broken sewer line.
Satyaveer of Madina village requested removal of encroachments in his street. Naresh from Indira Colony urged for old-age pension benefits. Krishna from Chunipura Mohalla sought corrections to his name in the ration card. Diler from Chamanpura Mohalla reported that another person’s name had been mistakenly added to his ration card, causing difficulties in availing government scheme benefits. Dharmvati from Madaudi Jatan village reported an incorrect birthdate on her family identity card.
Rohtash of Baland village informed the SDM about a wrong electricity bill. Rohtash, who works as a daily wage labourer, in his complaint said he paid a bill of Rs 21,221 on December 7, 2024, but the Electricity Department later sent him a bill for Rs 1,15,000. He said, “I am unable to pay the inflated bill.” He requested correction in the bill to avoid defaulting on his payments.
Archana, a private school teacher, complained about the non-payment of her salary for five months by her employer. In response, the SDM instructed officials of the Education Department to verify the complainant’s attendance and teaching records. “If the complaint is found true, the school operator will be directed to pay salary immediately,” he said.
