Hisar, July 3
The Haryana Vigilance Bureau (HVB) arrested the vice-president of the Haryana State Pharmacist Council (HSPC), Sohan Lal Kansal, and Subhash Chander Arora, a tout, on the charges of taking bribe for issuing the registration certificate of a pharmacist from his residence here today.
Sources said the Vigilance team raided the house in Sector 13 and arrested Kansal and seized Rs 42,000 from the house. He was accused of taking money for getting a pharmacist’s licence/certificate issued. The Vigilance Bureau took him to Bhiwani after arresting him where he will be produced in a court.
The HVB took the action on the basis of an input provided by Arora, a resident of Vidyanagar Colony of Bhiwani, who was arrested by the Vigilance team yesterday on the basis of a complaint of Satyawan, a resident of Bhiwani’s Bhagwi village.
The complainant had stated that his son Shasan Singh had applied for the certificate of pharmacy after completing his diploma. He alleged that his son had applied online for the certificate and also submitted the documents offline to the council’s office.
The complainant said after a few months, his son made repeated rounds of the council’s office to enquire about the certificate. But he was told that a person Subhash Chander Arora was the key person to get the certificate issued. The complainant alleged that top officials of the body of the council were taking bribes for issuing the certificates. The complainant said that his son had paid Rs 30,000 via Google Pay to Arora. On Saturday, the tout demanded another Rs 32,000 to hand over the certificate.
