In a determined effort to restore order and cleanliness in the city, the Panchkula Municipal Corporation has launched a special anti-encroachment drive aimed at clearing illegal occupations from public spaces. Acting under the directives of senior officials, the corporation's anti-encroachment team carried out operations in multiple areas, including Sector 2, Sector 20, Sector 9-10 Chowk.

As part of the campaign, the team took strict action against unauthorised vendors, stalls, carts, and goods displayed by shopkeepers that were obstructing footpaths, roads, and other public areas. The operation led to the removal of several temporary structures, contributing to smoother pedestrian and vehicular movement.

During today’s drive, officials issued 10 offline challans and two online challans specifically for cart-related encroachments. In addition, three challans were issued for the illegal use of polythene. The team also responded to two honeybee hive complaints complaints and one general public complaint, demonstrating the proactive and responsive nature of the campaign.

Municipal officials said the drive would continue in the coming days, with repeat offenders facing stricter penalties. The corporation has also appealed to the public to support the initiative by not encroaching on public spaces and helping maintain a clean, organised city environment.
