Sadhaura village in Yamunanagar, which literally means “the route for sadhus”, is anything but holy any more. The sacred pond is not cleaned properly and there are no arrangements for proper lighting. It is very tough for devotees to take a dip in the sacred pond as the water is dirty and surroundings are unclean. There are no ghats. The authorities are requested to look into the issue and redevelop the sacred site.

Illegal parking chokes road
The road leading to Laxmi Nagar, Sector 9 and 10 at INCO, Ambala City, which is the busiest road of the city, is now congested due to illegal parking on both sides of the road. Even the road adjacent to a nullah, which was meant for pedestrians, is now totally blocked by the Mall and pedestrian are compelled to use the main road, which is dangerous. Traffic police have failed to challan these vehicles as this mall/showroom belongs to a local MLA. The road is also used by those going to Ambala Cantt from Manav Chowk, Hisar road and vice versa. If the administration fails to do anything now, it will become difficult to act in future. The administration is requested to look into the issue. Nirmal Singh, Ambala City
Amend criteria to hire law officers
The government terms and conditions to recruit law officers in the Haryana Advocate General Office seem to be inappropriate as lawyers in the lower courts have been rendered ineligible to even apply. For the appointment to the post of Additional Advocate General, Deputy Advocate General and Assistant Advocate General, lawyers must be experienced and financially strong in their profession, but the condition of fixing minimum number of case filing only in the High Court or Supreme Court is not right. This decision undermines the knowledge of lawyers in the district courts. The government should amend these rules and provide an equal opportunity to all. Shakti Singh, Karnal
Poor healthcare in Karnal
Health services in Karnal are insufficient as only 87 doctors are working against the 154 sanctioned posts due to which the common man is suffering. I had a harrowing experience when I went to the Narwana Civil Hospital around two years ago with a swollen foot. There was no doctor even in the emergency. I was told that the Jind CMO had called a meeting and all doctors had gone there. Upon being confronted, the Jind CMO tried to cover up the matter, saying the meeting was over and doctors would reach the hospital soon. I reported the matter to the Haryana DHS, but I don’t know if any action was taken against anyone. I got the treatment from a private doctor instead.
