PM Modi praises Kurukshetra’s malaria prevention efforts
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted Kurukshetra’s success in malaria prevention during his "Mann Ki Baat" programme, sharing it as a model for the entire country. He said the Prime Minister praised the district for its efforts in tackling malaria.
The Haryana Health Department ran targeted campaigns to control mosquito breeding, raised awareness through radio and other platforms and successfully reduced malaria cases. These initiatives earned recognition from the World Health Organization (WHO), as the Prime Minister noted India's progress in malaria prevention.
Chief Minister Saini, who listened to the "Mann Ki Baat" programme with party workers in Sector 9, Panchkula, also highlighted the Prime Minister's mention of the upcoming Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, set to begin on January 14, 2025. PM Modi emphasised the cultural and traditional significance of the event, which draws millions of devotees from across India and the world.
The Chief Minister praised "Mann Ki Baat" as an educational and inspiring programme, offering valuable insights on diverse topics such as sports, agriculture, health and employment. He also acknowledged the growing impact of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), which are receiving recognition for their collaborative efforts.
