Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stones of six road underbridges and overbridges, besides inaugurating an underbridge under the Ambala division of the Northern Railway on Monday.

As per the Railways, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate and dedicate to the nation around 2,000 railway infrastructure projects costing over Rs 41,000 crore on Monday.

As per the details shared by the Ambala division authorities, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stones of three overbridges coming up in Jagadhri, Yamunanagar (cost Rs 20.38 crore), Uklana (Rs 69.52 crore) and Jamalpur Shaikhan (Rs 40.96 crore).

Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of three underbridges coming up at Kila Raipur (cost Rs 3.37 crore), Ahmedgarh (Rs 2.32 crore) and Himmatana (Rs 2.88 crore).

A road underbridge constructed at a cost of Rs 11.05 crore at Barara in Ambala will also be dedicated to the nation. Of the seven projects, four are in Haryana and three in Punjab.

A railway official said the construction of road overbridges and underpasses is taken up to eliminate manned level-crossing gates and is a continuous process in all zones of the Railways.

By separating the rail and road traffic, these structures help alleviate congestion at railway crossings, leading to smooth traffic flow.

Eliminating level-crossings reduces the risk of accidents, enhancing overall safety for both road and railway passengers.

Dedicated pathways for trains and vehicles can improve the efficiency of transportation networks by reducing delays and travel time.

Overbridges and underpasses can improve connectivity between different regions by providing uninterrupted routes for both road and rail transport, promoting integration and accessibility.
