In a significant breakthrough, Nuh police have arrested 15 individuals and recovered 13 mobile phones and 24 fake SIM cards from their possession. The police have registered 12 FIRs against the accused at the Cyber Police Station.
According to the police, the accused ran a fraudulent operation where they duped people by hiding their identities on social media platforms. They posted advertisements selling goods such as tyres, suits at discounted prices and offered jobs under the guise of Nataraj Pencil, while also claiming to sell cows and buffaloes. The criminals used fake SIM cards and mobile phones to threaten victims into transferring money in fraudulent accounts.
The arrests were made following a special operation led by 13 teams from the Nuh police, who took action against the accused over two days, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The operation spanned various locations in the district, including Nalhar village, Nuh-Hodal Road, the Mumbai-Vadodara Expressway, Shikarava Road Akeda, Delhi-Alwar Road, Nuh-Tauru Road and Salaheri.
The accused, identified as Soyeb, Waris, Nasim, Hasin Khan, Lukman, Alim, Hakam, Faisar, Alim, Mustkim, Sohail Khan, Ashiq, Sahil, Sahyar Katariya and Samim, are residents of different villages in Nuh district. During interrogation, the cyber criminals confessed to scamming people from several states, including Assam, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. They used fake SIM cards from states like Assam and Bihar to carry out their operations. All the accused have been presented in court and sent to judicial custody.
