Police used batons to stop farmers and tractors near Palwal’s Gadpuri village on the National Highway 19 on Tuesday afternoon.

Sources said the farmers were going from Amroha village to Delhi, where an ongoing tractor parade by farmers turned violent on Tuesday. Traffic remains disrupted, sources said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
