Police protecting main accused, claims sister of Dabwali village murder victim
After Gursewak Singh was murdered in Masitan village of Dabwali in April, his sister, Satbir Kaur, while speaking to mediapersons in Sirsa on Wednesday, made serious accusations against the Dabwali police.
She claimed that, instead of arresting main accused Sanjay Kataria, the police were trying to protect him.
Satbir said her brother was shot and killed by Sanjay and his accomplices as part of a planned conspiracy. Even though an FIR was filed against Sanjay and three others, the police have not arrested him. She said she had met the Dabwali SP, Hisar IGP and even the Haryana DGP many times, but to no avail.
She added that she believed that the police were helping Kataria evade justice, adding that, instead of helping the victim’s family, the police were pressuring them.
Satbir warned that if justice was not served and Sanjay was not arrested soon, she would ask the President for permission to end her own life.
Speaking about the incident, Jaskaur Singh, a member of the Corruption Free India group, said, in another case from Maujgarh village, Sanjay had called a man named Karanveer Singh, aka Maani, twice, asking him to harm Gursewak. Maani refused, and, two months later, he was murdered. This indicated that Sanjay might be involved in the case as well, he claimed.
Satbir said she would soon meet the Chief Minister of Haryana and the Home Minister to ask for justice. She demanded that Sanjay be arrested immediately.
