Police seize 46.5 kg Ganja in Gurugram, arrest 3 peddlers
The police have seized 46.5 kg of Ganja, valued at over Rs 5 lakh, from three individuals in the past 24 hours. A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against the accused.
According to a police spokesperson, Yashpal, the narcotics were seized from a location in Sector 58 on Wednesday. The recovery followed an interception by a police patrol acting on suspicion of drug peddling. The accused — Wasim, a resident of Kosikalan village in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh; Babli Kaur, from Nangloi in Delhi; and Asha Kaur, from Tilak Vihar in Delhi — were found in possession of the Ganja, which was packed in three plastic bags.
The police investigation revealed the accused had sourced the narcotics from Orissa and were planning to distribute them across various parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR).
While the two women have been sent to judicial custody, Wasim, the male accomplice, has been taken on police remand for further investigation into the drug network and their modus operandi.
