Sources in the Police Department said a 2500-page document containing the charges and evidence against her was compiled during investigation. A Hisar police’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) was given the task for the investigation.

The sources said the police claim to have found concrete evidence of espionage, including videos she filmed of a dam and an Army camp in Rajasthan, WhatsApp chats with declared persona non grata officials and ISI agents in Pakistan, and even meetings with them during her visits despite advisories against such contact. The sources said she was “voluntarily” in touch with the Pakistani handlers.

The sources said according to the chargesheet, Jyoti came in contact with agents during one of her trips to Pakistan. Her mobile phone revealed extensive chats with Ehsan-ur-Rahim Danish Ali of the Pakistan High Commission, and regular communication with ISI operatives Shakir, Hasan Ali and Nasir Dhillon, the sources revealed.

The SIT, formed by Hisar SP Shashank Kumar Sawan and comprising DSP Sunil, Inspector Nirmala, cyber cell in-charge Amit, and Sub-Inspector Satpal, worked for nearly three months to gather evidence before submitting the bulky report in the court.

The sources said the chargesheet also mentions Jyoti’s travel to Pakistan ahead of the Pahalgam attack, along with videos she shot there. The sources said the SIT was still continuing investigation and hoped to file supplementary chargesheet on completion of the probe.

Meanwhile, Jyoti’s lawyer Kumar Mukesh maintained that the chargesheet was filed on Thursday afternoon. He said Jyoti would appear in court on Monday, where she may be handed a copy of the report.
