Panchkula: Police told to remain vigilant, guide CET candidates
Reviewing the preparations of the Panchkula District Administration for the CET scheduled for July 26-27, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sumita Misra directed the police to maintain strict vigilance while being courteous to candidates and their guardians.
She said any candidate facing difficulties en route could approach the nearest police personnel for assistance. The police have been instructed to escort stranded candidates to their exam centres without delay. She also directed that helpdesks be set up at bus stands and other prominent locations for the convenience of candidates.
She urged students and parents not to fall for fake messages, letters, or rumours circulating on social media. "Follow only official instructions issued by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission, the police, or the district administration," she stated.
The Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Monika Gupta, said a dedicated bus service had been arranged from the Sector 5 Bus Stand, with over 108 buses deployed to transport candidates. Special buses would also depart from Kalka, Morni, Barwala, and Raipur Rani in two shifts.
She said mobile phones were banned inside exam centres for candidates as well as duty staff. Section 163 of the BNS would be enforced around the centres. Coaching centres and photocopy shops would remain shut for both days to eliminate any chances of cheating.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta said 550 police personnel would be deployed across 44 exam centres in Panchkula, supported by rooftop surveillance using binoculars to spot any suspicious activity. "No private vehicles will be allowed within a 500-metre radius of the centres," she added.
