Abhijeet Singh Tanwar, Assistant Environment Engineer of the HSPCB, Yamunanagar, said he along with an official of the HSPCB, Vibham Nayak, had on Tuesday sealed two units M/S Nasir Udyog, Jagadhri and M/S Arshi Metal Industries, Jagadhri, for operating illegally.

He said during an inspection, these industrial units were found operating illegally without obtaining consent to establish and consent to operate in violation of Section 25/26 of the Water (Prevention and Control) Act 1974 and Section 21/22 of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1981.

He further said these units did not have adequate air pollution control devices, releasing fugitive air emissions into the open environment without any stack and sampling facility.
