Sonepat: The youth against drugs and tobacco control cell of GVM Girls College organised slogan-writing and poster-making competitions to raise awareness among the youth against the use of drug and tobacco. In the slogan writing competition, Nancy of MSc-I and Tannu of MSc-II grabbed the first and second positions, respectively. In the poster-making competition, Priya Shukla and Anshu of BCA-I secured the first position and second ranks, respectively. Prof Rozi Chopra, Rohini Madaan and Smiti Aggarwal were the judges. Society president OP Paruthi and principal Manjula Spah congratulated the winners.
271 NDRI students to get degrees
Karnal: The 20th convocation of ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (Deemed University) will be organised on March 15. Director and Vice-Chancellor Dheer Singh said this year, 271 students would be awarded convocation degrees, of which 44 students would be given for BTech, 127 students for Master’s and 100 researchers for PhD. He further said the academic fortnight of the institute would commence with a programme on International Women’s Day, 15 days prior to the convocation ceremony. For the smooth organisation of the event, a meeting of the institute’s senior officials was conducted by Joint Director (Academic) and Dean Ashish Kumar Singh. He said the best thesis and division would be selected before the convocation ceremony.
GJU Students hired by R’sthan firm
Hisar: Six students of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology have been selected by Anzo Control Private Limited Neemrana — a Rajasthan-based firm — in the e-campus placement drive organised by the university’s training and placement cell. Yogender and Neeraj Kumar of BTech in computer science engineering, Sumit, Vikram and Rohit Kumar of BTech in mechanical engineering and Ravi Kumar of MBA in business analytics were the ones selected by the firm. Vice-Chancellor Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi congratulated the students and wished them a bright future ahead. University Registrar Prof Vinod Chhokar also congratulated the selected students. Meanwhile, company co-founder Vishal Kaushik said the firm intended to build best-in-class products in its domain.
