Some miscreants in the city are offering to make “birth certificate” for Rs 2,500 and have even put up posters regarding the same across the city. Just a mobile number, along with the amount, has been mentioned on the posters.
Suspecting a racket, the district health authorities have filed a complaint with the police, demanding an FIR against those who pasted the posters in the city. The authorities have also started an inquiry themselves.

He said a woman picked up the call and told him that Rs 14,000 had been fixed for getting birth certificate for people aged above 40 and Rs 6,500 for those below 40. She assured him of getting the certificate prepared from any district of the state. Later, she sought the copy of the Aadhar card with advance payment through an online mode, he maintained
“Earlier, two FIRs were filed in Gurugram and Kaithal districts around two months ago for hacking the official account of the Register (birth and death) with an intention to prepare fake birth and death certificates. Another FIR for pasting similar poster was lodged in Jhajjar too,” said the sources.
Dr Anil Birla, Civil Surgeon, said no one can put up posters asking the people to get birth certificate made. “It is illegal. So, we have lodged a police complaint against those pasted such posters,” he added.
