Postgraduate, PhD rank holders felicitated at agriculture varsity

A felicitation ceremony was organised at the College of Agriculture, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU), to honour students who excelled in the national-level entrance examinations for postgraduate and PhD programmes conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

Vice-Chancellor Prof BR Kamboj was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address, Kamboj emphasised that hard work, discipline and dedication were the keys to success. “Students can achieve any goal through sincere effort and perseverance,” he said. Commending the university’s legacy of excellence in education and research, he said that HAU students had consistently performed exceptionally well in competitive examinations as well.

The VC urged the students to utilise their knowledge for the betterment of society and the nation. “Your true contribution lies in reaching every village with a scientific mindset and making agriculture self-reliant and sustainable,” he said while adding that the HAU has long been a symbol of quality agricultural education. He expressed confidence in the students’ bright future and assured that the university was continuously striving to provide an improved learning environment. The Vice-Chancellor presented certificates and mementos to all meritorious students in the event.

Welcoming the gathering, Dr SK Pahuja, Dean, College of Agriculture, stated that HAU students possess immense talent and have brought laurels to the university at both national and international levels through their achievements in academics, research, innovation and sports. He said 46 students qualified for the ICAR Postgraduate and Junior Research Fellowship/Senior Research Fellowship examinations in 2025. Among them are six PhD and 40 postgraduate students, including 24 from the College of Agriculture, Hisar; eight from the College of Agriculture, Bawal; and eight from the College of Agriculture, Kaul, he said.
