Pothole-free road campaign launched in Hisar
Following the announcement by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to make all roads in the state pothole-free by June 15, the Hisar Municipal Corporation (MC) launched a campaign in the city today. The campaign was initiated in the Urban Estate-2, Vishwaspuram Colony and Sector 16 and 17 as of now. Giving information in this connection, Mayor Praveen Popli said in the last three days, around 160 complaints about potholes were received by the MC authorities.
He said the locations concerned were shared with officials and work on these sites would commence soon. If a road falls under the contractor’s maintenance period, it would be repaired by him, he said. Otherwise, the MC would take the responsibility of road repair, he added.
The Mayor also urged city residents to report potholes by sending photos with location details to the Municipal Corporation’s toll-free number 9953558000, while promising that he would ensure quick action on complaints.
Accompanied by Ward No. 14 councillor Suman Yadav, social worker Jagdish Jindal and local residents, the Mayor laid foundation stone for these projects. Mayor emphasised that equal development across all wards of the city was a priority and all pending and upcoming projects would be accelerated.
