The administration is making special arrangements for sanitation, drinking water, lighting, traffic control and medical services on mela premises. This year, the mela will be held from November 1 to November 5. Mela Administrator and Subdivisional Officer (Civil) Jaspal Singh Gill said devotees coming from different states of the country would reap benefits of virtue by bathing in Shri Kapal Mochan, Rin Mochan and Surajkund sarovars.

He further said the Electricity Department had installed new transformers in the mela area and the work of repairing and cleaning the roads was in its final stages. He said the Information and Public Relations Department had established a missing persons search centre and a media centre near the Rin Mochan sarovar.

“These centres will continuously announce information about missing persons, their belongings and other essential information,” said Jaspal Singh Gill. He said the mela area had been divided into four sectors, with a superviser appointed for each sector.

He added that the Information and Public Relations Department would establish a cultural stage at the centre of the mela area, where cultural programmes, bhajans and songs would be presented daily.

“These programmes will not only entertain devotees but also provide information about the government’’s public welfare schemes and development works,” said Gill.

He said the Police Department had made elaborate security arrangements.

“A temporary police control room will be set up at Government College of Aharwala village,” said Gill.

He said parking arrangements would be made at 11 locations in the mela area.

“Special parking passes have been issued, which have been hallmarked to prevent duplication and ensure security. It will be mandatory for all employees on duty at the mela to wear departmental passes around their necks,” said Gill.
