The President, Droupadi Murmu’s visit to the Ambala Air Force Station on October 18 was cancelled today. She was scheduled to attend an event where a sortie in the Rafale was to take place, besides other events.

The reason behind the cancellation is not clear.

“The President’s visit on October 18 to IAF Ambala is cancelled. The visit is postponed to a future date, and the same will be informed accordingly,” a defence spokesperson said.

The district administration and the Air Force authorities had been preparing for the event. Strict guidelines and directions had been issued in view of the President’s sortie.
