At the meeting, the MLA had raised objection and referred to a letter issued by the executive officer of the municipal council that the relatives of the elected women representatives should not be allowed to attend the meeting. After the incident, the MLA had taken up the matter with the Haryana Assembly Speaker and the matter was referred to the Committee of Privileges. As per the information, the notices have been issued to three representatives of the women municipal councillors and the Executive Officer of the MC.

As per the notice issued to Narinder Sharma, who had a scuffle with the MLA, reads that a question involving breach of privilege arising out of the notice given by Thanesar MLA Ashok Arora, has been referred by the Assembly Speaker to the Committee Of Privileges for examination, determination and report to the Assembly.

Narinder Sharma has been informed that the matter will be taken up for examination by the committee on August 5, in the committee room of the Haryana Assembly Secretariat. Narender Sharma has been given an opportunity to reply to the show- cause notice, why appropriate action shouldn’t be recommended against him for breach of privilege of the MLA. He has been also informed that he can come prepared if he wants to lead any evidence or produce any document.

MLA Ashok Arora said, “I went there to attend an official meeting of the Thanesar Municipal Council, and not a private event, but some unauthorsied people were present at the meeting and they misbehaved with me. The protocol was not followed. A police complaint was filed, but no action was taken and later a complaint of breach of privilege was given the Assembly Speaker against four persons, including the people who misbehaved and the MC official. I have come to know that notices have been issued to all four persons.”

“There were many unauthorised persons at the meeting, but names of three, who had misbehaved, were mentioned in the complaint. The matter is to be examined by the Committee of Privileges and appropriate action should be initiated. I have already announced not to attend any further meetings of the municipal council, until the entry of unauthorised persons is stopped at the official meetings,” he added.
