A passing-out parade for the 23rd batch of probationer Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) was organised on Monday at the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban. The chief guest for the occasion was Dr Arshinder Singh Chawla, Director of the academy.

A total of four probationer DSPs, having completed their foundational training, took the oath to discharge their duties with honesty, impartiality and allegiance to the Constitution of India. On the occasion, Superintendent of Police Pushpa presented the training report. In his address, Chawla emphasised the role of training in shaping capable and confident officers. “Training builds our confidence. The more you are tested during training and later in the field, the more refined and capable you will become — which will ease your journey in the police profession,” he said. He said the police uniform offered a large number of opportunities to serve society and expressed confidence that the officers would fulfil the purpose with dedication.

Highlighting the educational background of the batch, Chawla said two officers were graduates and two postgraduates. Their basic training course spanned from April 15, 2024, to April 26, covering a wide array of topics, including cyber security, emerging criminal laws, local and special acts, practical training and emergency response protocols.

On the occasion, Probationer DSP Akshay Kumar, who secured the first position in the batch, was awarded the DGP Sword of Honour, while Probationary DSP Sahil Dhillon, who stood second, received the DGP Baton. SP Pushpa detailed that the officers were trained in areas such as cybercrime investigation, human rights protection and prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace, women’s safety, smart policing, and sensitive handling of women, children, senior citizens and vulnerable sections of society. The curriculum also included field training and fostering a citizen-centric approach.
