In the ongoing investigation into the "white‑collar" terror module and the November 10 Delhi blast, investigating agencies have reportedly picked up another doctor in Nuh district and a cleric from a Faridabad mosque for questioning. Earlier, the police had detained two doctors from Nuh.Police sources said Dr Mohammad, a resident of Ahmadbas village in Nuh district, was picked up for questioning from his house on Friday night. The investigating agencies took action after they found some suspicious chats on his mobile phone.

Though the investigating agencies and the police did not confirm the detention of Dr Mohammad, his family said the police first confiscated the mobile and then interrogated him for hours.

The investigation has so far revealed that the main suspect, Dr Umar, left for Delhi from the Ferozepur Jhirka area on the day of the blast in Delhi. Ahmadbas village is located just 3 km from the spot, which Dr Umar visited. The investigating agencies are now trying to find out whether Dr Umar and Dr Mohammed met on the day of the blast.

The police sources said Imamuddin (44), the cleric at the Sirohi mosque and a resident of Kot village in Nuh district, had also been detained. It is alleged that Dr Muzammil Ganaie, who was earlier arrested, regularly visited the Sirohi mosque for prayers and was in touch with Imamuddin.

However, the police did not confirm the cleric's detention.

A shopkeeper near the mosque said Dr Muzammil often came to the mosque for prayers and was "well-known to the cleric".

Meanwhile, an extensive combing operation was again conducted in different areas of Faridabad on Saturday. During the searches at mosques, the police asked clerics not to allow Tablighi Jamaat members in the worship places without informing cops..

A police officer said the operation was conducted in the Chaaynsa, Tigaon, Saran, Mujesar and Sarai police station areas. All mosques in these areas were extensively searched.

Tablighi Jamaat is an international Sunni Islamic missionary movement in India to encourage Muslims to become more religiously observant. Its name translates to "Society of Preachers".

“In view of the high alert, till now about 140 mosques, 40 fertiliser and seed shops and about 200 guest houses/hotels have been inspected. As many as 1,700 tenants, about 100 second-hand car buyers/sellers and more than 500 J&K residents have been screened,” said Yashpal Singh, a spokesperson of the Faridabad police.
