Hisar: Progressive farmers to the fore with innovative products at krishi event
Hisar, February 18
The Northern Region Farm Machinery Training and Testing Institute organised a Krishi Darshan exhibition at its TTC Centre located on Sirsa Road, in Hisar today.
A spokesperson of the institute said thousands of farmers from across the state visited the exhibition on the second day today. The Krishi Mela will conclude on Monday.
The Haryana Horticulture Department has also tied up with the TTC to organise the fair. The director of the institute Mukesh Jain said the main objective of Krishi Darshan exhibition was to bring modern and new technologies not only to the farmers but also to the common people through the agriculture exhibition.
The progressive farmers and various private firms have displayed their products here. A farmer from Fatehabad who had launched juice products got the attention of the visitors. The firm, ‘New Naina Devi’ of Fatehabad, has prepared juices from the extracts of fig, Ashwagandha and Arjuna bark. It is useful in cleansing the blockage in the heart or veins, he claimed.
The Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO) distributed authorised seeds of moong and paddy to the farmer during the exhibition. The IFFCO officials informed the farmers about seagrass claiming that it can increase the immunity of plants. “The farmers will not only be able to increase the quality of their crops but their yield will also increase by 20 to 30 per cent by using seagrass.
