The protesters said the release of threatening video after the murder of the tailor was a challenge to the sovereignty of the country, which would not be tolerated. They demanded the hanging of the accused and compensation of Rs 1 crore for the dependents of the deceased tailor.

The protests started from Kamala Nehru Park around 5pm today under the banner of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajran Dal. Hundreds of men and women took out a march in Sadar bazaar and reached Sohna Chowk raising slogans “On this heinous crime, the government should not only give death penalty to the criminals but also take concrete steps towards securing the Hindu society”, said Ajit Singh, district president of the VHP.
