Public Health Engineering, Irrigation Depts told to expedite pending projects

Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav has directed officials of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Irrigation Departments to prioritise and streamline the execution of ongoing works and projects related to their respective departments.

The DC chaired a review meeting at the Mini-Secretariat on Thursday which was attended by the officials concerned of the two departments.

Conducting a detailed analysis of the progress of various projects and schemes, the DC stressed the need for proactive efforts towards completing the works. The officials of the Public Health Engineering Department were directed to focus on cleaning of the choked sewerage lines and repair of the damaged portions and to install lids on the open manholes.

He also got the information about the capacity and water supply of canal water in the district from the Irrigation Department officials. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the progress of canal remodeling and flood management works, urging officials to ensure the timely completion of these works. He also called for ensuring smooth coordination with other departments for necessary clearances.

Yadav called for transparency and promptness in implementation, urging all departments to work collaboratively. He reiterated the government's commitment to public welfare and directed the officials to monitor the ongoing schemes actively to avoid delays. The officials were directed to obtain no objection certificates (NOCs) where required and to maintain high standards of execution construction material being used in the projects.
