Public services suffer at govt offices in Hisar

Computer operators, under the banner of the Haryana Computer Professionals Sangh, staged a dharna at the Mini Secretariat in Hisar today. Computer operations at various offices of the district administration suffered due to the indefinite strike.

6 demands taken up with govt

• The strike has affected services in the E-Disha Kendra, tehsil office, RTO office, Municipal Corporation office and the SDM offices as the visitors were left high and dry.
• The district president of the Sangh said they have taken up six demands with the government, including budgetary provision for the District Information Technology Society, creation of the posts of employees, to revert the computer operators to the DITs who have been shifted to the HKRN and to provide job security till the age of 58.

The strike affected services in the E-Disha Kendra, tehsil office, RTO office, Municipal Corporation office and the SDM offices as the visitors were left high and dry. Santosh, from Dabra village here complained that she visited the office at about 10 am, but there was nobody in the office to attend to her complaint. Another visitor Virender Singh from Narnaund visited the office to get the name of his seven-year-old daughter added in the Family ID. “There are several people like me who have been waiting outside the E-Disha Kendra. But we have no communication from the authorities concerned whether somebody will take up our complaints or not,” he said.

Hisar district has about 180 computer operators. Pawan Kaushik, the district president of the Sangh, said they have taken up six demands with the government, including budgetary provision for the District Information Technology Society (DITS) which is an IT society, creation of the posts of employees, to revert the computer operators to the DITs who have been shifted to the HKRN and to provide job security till the age of 58 .

Kaushik said all the computer operators that have been performing the most of the online works in the district administration will remain closed till indefinite period. “We will not resume work until the state government listens to our demands”, he said, adding that they have six demands which had been forwarded to the state government. He said former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had assured them to take up their demands, but nothing had happened so far.
