Faridabad, September 6
Claiming that the third Covid wave threat wasn’t over, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Rajiv Arora on Monday asked the officials to increase the preparedness.
He directed the DC and the CMO to conduct an audit of health facilities, including oxygen arrangements, in all government and private hospitals of the district and submit the report at the earliest.
Arora said while every hospital needs to install plants to produce maximum oxygen, he said all existing ones needed to be upgraded immediately. He said a trial run of all plants was required to be done to assess the ground situation. Asking all private hospitals to increase the ICU beds, ventilators and number of beds in special Covid care centres, he enquired about the oxygen storage system and the stock of cylinders in Faridabad and Palwal districts.
Directing the officials to complete the Covid vaccination of the eligible persons by September 30, Arora said the second dose also needed to be given as per the norms or prescribed rules. He instructed the CMO to identify the hotspots of such slum areas where a large number of Covid cases had been reported in the past. He said the department had to act with utmost vigilance and be ready to deal with any situation.
He also reviewed the general immunisation and other health services in the general hospital, PHC, CHC and other areas of Faridabad and Palwal.
