Chandigarh, January 5
Inder Mohan Singh, head of a gurdwara in Bhiwani, on Tuesday flagged off a vehicle carrying 101 quilts for farmers sitting on dharna at the Shahjahanpur border.
Villagers in Sirsa’s Maujukhera collected Rs 100 per acre of landholding from residents for participation in the farmers’ dharna at the Tikri border.
With Rs 4.5 lakh collected through crowd funding, villagers hired a minibus to take batches of between 30 and 40 farmers to the Tikri border, with each group staying for three or four days.
