The redevelopment work will be carried out at a cost of Rs 2.61 crore and will soon be allotted to the qualifying agency. The project is being taken up as per the directions of the district administration and the District Road Safety Committee.

The design for redevelopment of the junction has been prepared by Raahgiri Foundation after incorporating the findings of the topography survey carried out by them. The period for completion of this work is eight months.

“The redevelopment of Rajiv Chowk will be instrumental in improving traffic management and pedestrian safety at this key intersection. Implementation of all necessary corrective measures will be taken up to enhance the overall utility of the junction,” the GMDA CEO Sreenivas said.
