Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda and his son and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Singh Hooda today launched a joint attack on the BJP regime over Ram Temple in Ayodhya and establishment of ‘Ram Rajya’ in the country.

Deepender offers prayers at Patoda

Jhajjar: Rajya Sabha MP Deepender Hooda on Monday offered prayers to Lord Ram at Patoda village, here. He prayed for peace and brotherhood in the country, freedom from inflation and unemployment and that the state should be free from crime and drugs. Deepender said the true meaning of ‘Ram Rajya’ was that everyone should get justice, no one should be treated unfairly and the oppressor should be punished. TNS

“Lord Ram belongs to all and should not be associated with any political party. Late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi was the first to get the doors of Ram Temple opened, following which the foundation stone was laid in Ayodhya on November 9, 1989,” the former Chief Minister pointed out while participating in an event of the District Bar Association here today.

Meanwhile, Deepender Hooda, who also attended the Bar association programme, decried the move of stopping Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from entering a temple in Assam today and termed it a shameful act of the BJP government.

“On one hand, the entire country is immersed in faith and devotion, while on the other hand, Rahul Gandhi was not allowed to go to a temple. This cannot be the definition of ‘Ram Rajya’. The concept of Ram in our religion and society is that God belongs to everyone,” said Deepender.

“Lord Ram belongs to everyone and resides in the hearts of crores of people,” he observed. Deepender Hooda also participated in several programmes organised in Rohtak today. He worshiped Lord Ram during the Maha Aarti event organised by Shri Ramlila Utsav Committee and prayed to Lord Ram for maintaining peace in the country.

Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister stated that the Congress was fully prepared for the elections in Haryana. “The party has been reaching out to the people and raising their voice,” he stated.

“The BJP-JJP regime has cheated the public by making empty announcements. All their promises like old-age pension of Rs 5,100, 75 per cent reservation in jobs, guarantee of MSP, double income of farmers, providing permanent houses to all families proved to be a bunch of lies,” he remarked.

The Leader of Opposition alleged that the current government also stopped the welfare schemes launched during the Congress tenure.

“The reservation of Backward classes’ was snatched away by reducing the income limit of the creamy layer from Rs 8 lakh to 6 lakh. The youth suffering from unemployment are today leaving the state and the country. A large number of youth are getting trapped in the quagmire of drugs and crime,” he added.
