Rajnish Mehta elected Radaur MC president
BJP candidate Rajnish Mehta has been elected the president of the Radaur Municipal Committee in Yamunanagar district. He defeated his nearest rival, Independent candidate Dalip Kumar, by a margin of 546 votes.
Mehta, aka Shalu, bagged 3,659 votes, while Kumar got 3,113 votes. Among the other candidates, Mahendra Pal Tina got 1,294 votes, Ajay Rao 911, Satvinder Singh Rinku 483 and NOTA 67 votes.
State Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, who is the Radaur MLA, extended his congratulations to Mehta on his victory. The win belonged to the people of the town, Rana said.
He said the people’s decision was supreme, adding that they had made history by aligning the city's governance with the “double-engine government” — state and Centre.
Rana credited the victory to the public mandate, and the policies of the BJP.
He promised the public to never let their trust and expectations fade.
Calling the election a mandate for development, Rana said the newly elected president and councillors would work tirelessly to fulfil public expectations.
He urged everyone to move forward with harmony and a focus on development, leaving politics aside.
He said, with the “triple-engine government” — Centre, state and local — developmental efforts would accelerate, benefiting the general public.
